Badminton

Badminton is played in the Aquinas Gymnasium one afternoon a week, first and foremost as a free, social sport for all students.

Students who wish to play competitively are encouraged to join local clubs such as Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. These students are encouraged to make the most of opportunities to play for Aquinas College in Bay of Plenty Secondary School and Zone competitions.

Information

Selections

Individuals/Teams to represent Aquinas College at any badminton tournaments will be chosen from those who attend after-school badminton sessions or who are part of a club. Selection will occur prior to tournaments.

Trainings

Badminton Club runs over Term 2 and Term 3, and will be held each Wednesday from 3.3.0 p.m. until 4.30 p.m. in the Aquinas College Gymnasium.

BOPSS Junior Competition (Year 9-10) – May 2023
BOPSS Senior Competition (Year 11-13) – June 2023
WBOP Badminton Champs (Year 7-8) – July 2023

Uniform

Training: PE uniform or alternative sports gear. Appropriate footwear (optional).
Tournaments: Aquinas Playing Shirt (supplied). Appropriate footwear.
