Learning Support

Aquinas College has a specialist team dedicated to helping students with learning differences.

Learning Support team members work in partnership with families and whānau to understand each student’s needs and take a strengths-based approach to learning.

Our team also supports students to participate in horse therapy sessions and looks for opportunities for our students to be involved in the community. In collaboration, we develop IEPs and PATH plans that reflect the needs of the student and focus on providing meaningful future pathways. In addition, we support students to access Special Assessment Conditions for their assessments. Please see the link for further information.

ESOL

Tuition is available for students who do not have English as a first language and require support with reading, writing and speaking. Teachers identify students who would benefit from ESOL assistance and inform parents/caregivers.
