We are seeking a passionate leader to champion the growth of Te Ao Māori within our school, ensuring the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are embedded in our culture, curriculum, and leadership. This role will strengthen Mātauranga Māori and Te Reo Māori across the college, fostering genuine partnerships with iwi, hapū, and whānau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote Te Reo Māori across the College, fostering engagement and excellence in learning.
- Guide the development and implementation of culturally responsive teaching and learning practices.
- Provide leadership in curriculum design, ensuring a future-focused and innovative approach to Te Reo Māori education.
- Collaborate with staff to strengthen the integration of Mātauranga Māori across learning areas.
- Support the College in honouring its commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Build relationships with iwi and the wider Māori community to enhance student learning and cultural connection.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A strong commitment to Mātauranga Māori and fluency in Te Reo Māori.
- A passion for fostering student engagement and success through culturally sustaining pedagogies.
- An ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, whānau, and the wider community.
- A commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
