Our Performance

Our Performance

Aquinas College has an exceptional reputation for academic excellence — a record that is unequalled in the Bay of Plenty.

These outcomes are a result of learning practices that are personal, engaging and empowering. Our teaching and learning programmes are designed to extend our students’ thinking, challenge them to think creatively and critically and take ownership of their learning.

NCEA results show that Aquinas students have recorded incredible achievement rates compared to similar schools and the national average. From NCEA Level 1 through University Entrance, our students vastly outperform their local and national peers.

Aquinas students also perform remarkably well in New Zealand Scholarship, notably Biology.

Sporting & Cultural Success

Aquinas College is about more than academic success. We have a strong tradition of excellence in sporting and cultural endeavours. Although we have just 750 students, we boast a high number of national titleholders and New Zealand sporting representatives.

Our students have made headlines for their Nga Manu Korero speech performance, musical prowess and business and enterprise acumen.
