Welcome to Aquinas College

I am acting Principal for the College during Term 1. We welcome Ray Scott as the Principal in Term 2. Ray comes to us with considerable experience from St Johns College in Hamilton where he has been the Principal for the last 11 years.
I am very pleased to introduce you to Aquinas College. The facilities and environment are superb and will develop further in the years ahead. The curriculum and pastoral care offered in the school ensures each student is challenged in different ways, and in a safe and caring environment.
We have developed a distinctive Special Character. It uses and builds on the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic Church over the last 2000 years, on the work of St Thomas Aquinas and on the lives and good example in each family and our contributing schools. We must work together to make a difference in our world, to strive for justice and equity, and to provide example and support to those most in need.
We believe every student brings enormous potential for growth, talents to share and develop, and above all goodwill to contribute positively to the school and wider community. Our expectations are very high - we expect all students to work consistently and hard to reach their potential particularly in the academic area. We want our students to enjoy their schooling and enjoy being part of Aquinas College. We trust our students will develop their love of God, and their love and respect for those about them and for their environment. We trust that they will be generous in their talents for others. We trust that they will develop self-responsibility and effective learning habits, so that they leave school confident and capable to participate fully in an ever-changing world. What a challenge!
I invite all families to support the school fully in faith development, and in the academic, cultural and sporting opportunities offered. Let us move forward together.
