Congratulations to Aquinas’ premier boys’ futsal team which is on a winning streak after taking gold at the BOP Secondary Schools Futsal Championship!! 🏆⚽🥇
In command throughout the Feb. 22 tournament, the lads overcame a physical Rotorua Boys’ High side in the final. Down 0-1 at half-time, they rebounded back 2-1, scoring two unanswered goals in the second half. The Aquinas side also won the recent Waikato-BOP Secondary Schools Tournament. Fantastic form for the boys as they focus now on Nationals in Wellington later this month. It will be the first time an Aquinas futsal team has made it to Nationals!
Congrats to the team: Ethan Davies, Jayden Hyland, Tai Matuku, Jesse O’Hara, Ben Petrik, Callum Roberson, Ryan Williams, Nevo Zorero and coach Gali Zorero. Aquinas also fielded three other teams at the BOP champs, Yr 9 girls’, Yr 10 girls’, and senior girls’.
