Athletes Topple Records and Score Medal Haul

Aquinas athletes smashed 11 school records and achieved 15 podium places at the BOP Secondary School Champs earlier this month. Some amazing performances by some very talented athletes!

Ella Blackburn (Yr 9): 3rd – junior girls 3000m (12:28.41)

Paige Mennie (Yr 9): 3rd – junior girls javelin (17.89m)

Lachlan Murray (Yr 9): 1st -junior boys 800m (2:23.10) and 1st – junior boys 1500m (4:56.43)

Vaughan Murray (Yr 10): 3rd – intermediate boys 800m (2:06.06) and 2nd – intermediate boys 1500m (4:29.78)

Hamish Murray (Yr 13): New U19 boys 1500m record of 4:10.88 (beating the 2023 time set by his brother, Callum, by more than five seconds)

Luka Mahy (Yr 13): New U19 boys high jump record of 1.78m (beating a record that has stood since 2013)
