ASA Athletes Conquer Stairway Repeats Ahead Of Three Peaks

Aquinas Sports Academy (ASA) students have been putting in some hard mahi as they prepare for their end-of-term challenge.

Earlier this month, students went to The Lakes to complete as many repetitions of the Staircase as possible within an allocated time. Mr Kevin Elder, our teacher in charge of ASA, said the training was fun, enjoyable and challenging.

The ASA group is working on improving fitness ahead of their end-of-term finale, the Three Peaks. Students aim to climb, jog or run up Mount Maunganui, the Papamoa Hills and one other peak all in one day.

The marathon adventure is a chance to explore the local environment, engage in a fitness session, and understand the significance of the local sites.
