Young Leaders Take on Dale Carnegie Challenge

Congratulations to Year 13 students Bria Donald and Erral Singh, Aquinas’ latest graduates of the Dale Carnegie Youth Programme.

Bria and Erral were among 22 Western Bay of Plenty students awarded scholarships to take part in the transformative three-day programme, which is designed to help young people unlock their potential and develop key skills for life, study and future careers.

The course focuses on building self-confidence, people skills, communication, leadership, and strategies for managing stress and worry.

For Bria, one of the biggest benefits was developing greater confidence in communicating her ideas.

“Although this course is quite short, you learn so much. A major benefit is learning how to express my ideas properly – with confidence in myself.”

Erral also highlighted the confidence he gained throughout the programme, particularly in communicating effectively. He encouraged future Aquinas students selected for the programme to approach the experience with an open mind.

“Don’t be nervous because the more you put yourself out there, the more you’ll achieve from this course.”

Well done, Bria and Erral! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you achieve.

A big thank you to the Acorn Foundation for sponsoring these scholarships and providing such a valuable opportunity for our young people.
