On the 10th of May eight students from Aquinas College went to the Epro8 challenge at Tauranga Intermediate. We had a Year 7 team and Year 8 team .
The EPro8 Challenge is an engineering and problem solving race.
There were 3 challenge’s that teams could choose from. One was make a Solar powered alarm clock to wake up someone. Another was to make a dog kennel that could withstand a storm. The last one was to learn the science behind magic tricks.
Each school had a station that had all the materials we would need, and we started making things. Lots of other schools entered the competition and we all had good fun.
Our Year 7 team chose the alarm clock option and finished 3rd. This result means that they will move through to the next round. The Year 8 team made the dog kennel and finished 7th.
Thanks to Mrs Roberts who looked after the team in 2018.
