Congratulations to AC’s three 2024 Acorn Foundation Dale Carnegie Scholarship winners.
Year 13’s Caitlin Cooper, Harry Fearn and Ryan Williams were selected for the organisation’s Youth Programme which helps young people improve their self-confidence and personal communication techniques.
All three graduated last month alongside 19 other students from the Western Bay. The three-day course teaches Dale Carnegie’s five drivers of success: building greater self-confidence; strengthening people skills; enhancing communication skills; developing leadership skills; and reducing stress and worry.
“What you put into this is what you get out, which motivated me to give 110 percent, and try to take as much as I possibly could from this opportunity,” Harry said.
More than a dozen AC students have received a scholarship to attend a similar Dale Carnegie course. The programme is delivered by Dale Carnegie BOP Waikato and Priority One’s InStep programme.
