As part of our Year 10 Social Studies programme, we are looking at social action and global perspectives on social issues.
Groups choose their own issue from the UN Sustainable Development goals and then design a personal social action as part of this. Thinking globally, acting locally! One group are going to give out second hand blankets to those in need. The blankets will give them a comfort that we take for granted, especially to those who are living in the city streets. Another group is working on collecting primary school appropriate books for underprivileged schools and children that are in need of reading material.
These books will be sent to local underprivileged primary schools and some will be sent to the village in Fiji that Aquinas College continuously supports. If you have any primary school aged appropriate books or second hand blankets you would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated if you could drop them off at Aquinas College by September 1st to support our cause.
