An early start for a long trip – and one thoroughly worth it! Aquinas Year 12 History students embarked on the annual Wellington History Tour last week.
Highlights included visiting the Waiouru Army Museum en route, exploring the wonders of Te Papa and Pukeahu and the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand. We learned about the horrific consequences of the Nazi regime; this trip brought history to life.
Apart from the historical sites, highlights were ‘phone-free dinners’ (amazing how good the conversation was with phones stacked on the tables!). The singing in the vans was questionable, and the sightseeing and shopping were great in typically windy Wellington weather!
