There was some impressive sucess for Aquinas Water Polo Players at the July Pan Pacific Youth Water Polo Competition.
The Pan Pacific Youth Water Polo Competition is the largest water polo event in the Southern Hemisphere with 164 teams competing from countries across the Pacific including NZ, Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada and New Caledonia.
A large number of Aquinas students represented Tauranga Water Polo Club at the competition in the Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 male and female divisions. Outstanding achievements were –
Two Aquinas students playing in the first ever Gold medal winning Tauranga U16A boys teams – Loui Schuler and Zane Mackay. Loui Schuler was also awarded the U16 Boys Tournament Most Valuable Player. A fine achievement indeed, particularly at an international competition. His club noted Loui is the epitome of the club values and talent.
Loui also went on to play in the Tauranga U18 boys team with fellow Aquinas students Gabe Orchard, Noah Van Oudenaaren and Tom Wilson. The boys came home with a Bronze Medal after a nail biting penalty shoot out.
Brilliant efforts and great results from our Aquinas water polo players.
