Top NZ Sailor
Lachlan Dillan, a Year Nine student ended his sailing season with the Optimist Nationals in Napier during the Easter break where he placed 13th in New Zealand.
His placings during the season gave him an overall ranking of 14th (out of 173 sailors). The top ranking 25 sailors then become part of the New Zealand Sailing Squad and go on to compete overseas.
Lachlan has also won a place at the North American Championships held in Toronto in June.
In preparation, he is taking part in an intensive training programme held in Auckland most weekends with other young sailors from all over New Zealand.
