Term 1 is Underway

It was fantastic to see students back on campus today (Feb. 2). We welcomed 165 new ākonga and four new staff into the Aquinas whānau, including 145 Year 7s starting their seven-year journey as the Class of 2026.

The day began with a pōwhiri in the Gym, followed by shared kai for new families and staff. The whole school then gathered for Liturgy, where 859 wax beads were melted into one, signifying the uniting of every student and House into one Aquinas family.

During the first Assembly of 2026, our Student Executive leaders were introduced, with Head Students Reilly Cope and Isla Martin encouraging students to practise kindness, build connections, and seize every AC opportunity this year

We wrapped up the day with a BBQ for new students and their families — a perfect start to an exciting year ahead.

Mā te Atua tātou e manaaki — May God bless us all — and a warm welcome to our new students, families and staff.
