Yr. 8 student Avalee Donovan- Trewhella. Avalee is a member of Tauranga Synchro, Tauranga’s synchronised swimming club. Tauranga Synchro competed in the NZ National Synchronised Swimming Championships that were held in Invercargill from 8-12 October.
Avalee competed in the Inter-school competition representing Aquinas College and came 4th in the Intermediate Solo event, narrowly missing a medal. She was also a member of a team of 5 who won silver in the AquaCombo Team event in the championships.
Yr. 8 student Paige Simpson is also part of the team and competed in the 12 & under category. Although her duet didn’t place in this highly competitive category, it was a great achievement to represent Tauranga in this national event.
