Strong Start for AC Girls Soccer Team

Our AIMS girls’ soccer team tackled St Cuthbert’s today (Sept 1) in a tight game where AC constantly pressured their goal but couldn’t quite score.

Aquinas had excellent defence and teamwork and repeatedly came close to scoring, hitting the post three times. The match ended in a zero-all draw.

“We absorbed the pressure in the first half then piled it on in the second,” said Coach Olly Webb. “We were just unlucky and we played a much higher ranked team.”

It was the first time the Aquinas team had played together. Most played for various local clubs during the season.

Captain Bella Ferguson (Year 8) said that the team did well in their first game.
