Friday 19th March, 2021 Baywave Aquatic Centre, Mt Maunganui
9.00 am until 2.30 pm
All Parents and Caregivers are most welcome to attend this year’s swimming carnival on Friday 19th March at the Baywave Aquatic Centre, Mount Maunganui.
There is a small entry fee for parents/supporters and seating at the pools is limited, so we encourage parents/caregivers to bring their own seat to view pool side.
The event is open to all Year 9 – 13 students to attend and they can choose to swim in either competitive or non-competitive events.
There will be buses available for students who require transport to Baywave Aquatic Centre. Students who require bus transport are to assemble at the Foyer at 8.45am for departure. Buses will return to AC by 3.10pm so students can return home in their normal methods. Please indicate on the online entry whether you need bus transport from school in the morning.
There will be competitive races for our most competent swimmers and non-competitive events for other swimmers. The following events are offered:
25m Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke
50m Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly
100m Freestyle, Individual Medley
200m Freestyle, Individual Medley
Note: Competitive swimmers must enter at least 3 of the events above.
Swimming registrations must be made online here.
Students are permitted to dress in House colours, but NO FACE PAINT. Arrive ready to swim, with togs on and appropriate footwear for around the pool.
It is essential that all students bring a water bottle to assist with hydration throughout the day. Also, everyone must have a packed lunch and snacks as there will be no allowance for students to leave the pools or use the pool shop.
Any parents or caregivers who are available to assist on the day as a timekeeper will be welcomed. Please indicate this on the online entry form or contact the Sports Office, ctarr@aquinas.school.nz or phone: 543 2400 Ext 243.
