Sports Registrations – Term 1 2023

Summer Sport Registrations are now open for Term 1, 2023!

Please see below for a list of codes offered at Aquinas College in Term 1 and all of the information you will need to know about them.

Information about how to register for specific sports is also stated. Please carefully read all information, if you can not find the answer you are after, please contact the Teacher in Charge. This information can be found on the code webpages (links below). Please be aware that your email may not be responded to until the start of Term 1. Unless otherwise stated, all Summer Sports Registrations close on Monday 6 February.

Basketball 3×3:
Aquinas intends on entering several teams into the 3×3 Secondary School Nationals in March. If your child is Y9-13 and would like the opportunity to trial for one of these teams, please complete this online form to receive trial details:

Cricket:
Cricket Registrations are starting to open for students wishing to play in Term 1. All information regarding subscription fees, uniform details and contact details can be found on the AC Cricket Page. Please see below for registration details.
Year 7/8 Cricket: https://www.playhq.com/new-zealand-cricket/register/ebff76
Year 9-13 Cricket: WBOP have not yet released their registration info for Term 1. This will be sent out at the end of January/start of February next year.

Equestrian:
Several equestrian events are offered to students throughout the year. All students are required to have their own horse and equipment (or access to) for events. If you would like to be informed of upcoming competitions, please fill in this form.

Futsal:
Futsal is offered socially as a summer alternative to Football at AC. Social students are to create their own teams with friends and submit this to the Sports Office by Friday 10 February. Get some friends together and register your team on this Team Registration form. If you are an individual keen to play, please email your name and age group to the Sports Office and we will see if we can find a team for you.

If your child is Year 9-13 and a competitive player interested in competing in a Futsal team in Term 1 and competing at the BOP Secondary School Champs, please complete the Futsal online form.

Rock Climbing:
Rock Climbing is offered at Aquinas College as competitions throughout the year, usually occurring in Terms 1 through to 3. Students are encouraged to join up to a Rock Climbing Club (such as Rocktopia ) to receive coaching and experience in the lead up to competitions.
If you would like to be informed of upcoming competitions, please fill in this registration of interest.

Rowing:
Rowing is available for Year 8 – 13 students who are beginners and those who have experience in rowing. For the more experienced students, regattas will be occurring through February and March.
If you would like further information please see the AC Rowing Webpage, or if you would like to join the AC Rowing Club please email Teacher in Charge of Rowing, Mrs Maria Rogerson (mrogerson@aquinas.school.nz).

Sailing:
The families who are interested in continuing with sailing, or those who wish to join the sport, should make contact with Teacher in Charge, Mr Leon Roberson, via email lroberson@aquinas.school.nz. More information can be found on the AC Sailing Webpage .
The team will be practicing at the Tauranga Yacht club. If you are interested in joining please contact Mr Roberson. We are constantly looking for new members.

Tennis:
Tennis is offered at Aquinas College as competitions throughout the year. Students are encouraged to join up to a local Tennis Club to receive coaching and experience in the lead up to competitions.
If you would like to be informed of upcoming competitions, please fill in this registration of interest.

Volleyball:
All those who are interested in playing Volleyball please fill in this Online Registration form.

For further information regarding Volleyball at Aquinas College you can also head to the AC Volleyball Website.

Water Polo:
If you would like to play Water Polo in Term 1, please take the time to fill in the Water Polo Registration Form 
This will provide the AC Water Polo Club with information to determine the amount of teams and if trials will be necessary. This information will be communicated to you via email.

Swimming Sports Y9-13: Wednesday 15 March, Greerton Aquatic Centre
Waikato/BOP Athletics: Tuesday 21 March, Porritt Stadium, Hamilton
BOP Secondary School Swimming Champs (Y9-13): Thursday 23 March, Baywave Aquatic Centre
Swimming Sports Y7/8: Tuesday 28 March, Greerton Aquatic Centre
Summer Tournament Week (Y11-13): Monday 27 – Friday 31 March, Assorted Locations
North Island Athletics Championships: Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 April, Massey University, Palmerston North
Zone Swimming Champs (Y7/8): Tuesday 4 April, Greerton Aquatic Centre
