Congratulations to Ella Akkerman and Beach Volleyball partner Jasmine Milton (from Rangitoto College) who have won a Silver Medal at the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas.
They played 3 pool games vs Saint Lucia, Rwanda and Trinidad & Tobago winning all three games 2–0. In the quarter finals they were up against the second seeds England and played very well to win 2-1, 21 – 16, 11 – 21, 15 – 11. In the semi finals they played Scotland winning 2–0, 21 – 12, 22 – 20. In the finals they played the top seeds Australia, losing 2-0.
