Over the weekend, Roisin Boyle, in year 12, went to the Government House in Wellington where she was awarded the Queen’s Girls Guide award. The Queen’s Guiding award is the highest award available in Guiding.
To receive this award Roisin had to show and develop her leadership and personal skills while contributing to Guiding and to the community. She had five components to complete including service to Guiding, outdoor challenges, personal skill development, community action and a residential.
While at the ceremony, Roisin got to meet the Governor-General of New Zealand, the Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy,
