We have a strong House system at Aquinas College for this helps develop school spirit and school tradition. House competition involves sports (eg swimming, athletics and cross-country) as well as cultural and academic activities. House names acknowledge the importance of our Catholic tradition and Catholic education in this area.

Each year, two senior students from each House are chosen to be House Leaders.

BROWNE
Browne House (purple) is named after the current Bishop Denis Browne, the Catholic Bishop of the Hamilton Diocese and a key supporter of the establishment of Aquinas College

CLUNY
Cluny House (blue) is named after the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny who have worked in Tauranga, particularly at St Mary’s School, for 60 years. There is still a community of sisters in Tauranga.

FOY
Foy House (gold) is named after Fr Pat Foy a loved and respected parish Priest of Tauranga in the 1990s

HENI PORE
Heni Pore House (red) is named after a local Maori woman and catechist. She is well known for her Christian actions during the land wars in the 1860s
