2018 NEW ZEALAND SHORT COURSE SUMMARY:

Congratulations to the following eight Aquinas College Students qualifiers who recently raced in the 2018 NZ Short Course from the 2nd October to 6th October.

Caitlin Farrell, Connor Farrell, Lochlainn O’Connor, Mille Quin, Thomas Wilkinson, Anais Magner, Ruby Helm, Noah van Oudenaaren.

Lochalinn O’Connor (Open Menns)

–        3rd for 200m FLY

Lochlainn swam a perfectly measured race to finish first in a new personal best time, take gold and break the BOP record previously held by Moss Burmester. From this race, Lochlainn swam an excellent race in the Open Men’s ‘A’ Final to finish in 3rd place, picking up the bronze medal, his first National Open Medal (those ahead were 20+ in age). Well Done Lochy. In a very strong field, Lochlainn again improved his personal best time, by 0.2 seconds and broke the BOP Record held by Moss Burmester for the second time today.
