What’s happening in Room 7?
Last year after much research and meeting with planners, it was agreed that the Food Technology classrooms (Rooms 6 & 7) were not meeting the needs of our Technology students. Room 6 was constantly in demand with high numbers of students in classes, and Room 7 was often used only for theory lesson.
Consultation with the Hamilton Diocese enabled an upgrade of Room 7 to be undertaken. The result is that a modern, bright, multi-purpose kitchen has been fashioned. The commercial oven is still there but so are eight new, large, working spaces allowing full junior classes to operate.
We now have two kitchen-classrooms allowing students to have more practical time in modern spaces. The Technology Faculty would like to thank our Principal, Mr Scott, Graeme Roil (Hamilton Catholic Diocese Schools’ Property Manager) and Gisler Architects.
