Lunchtime Tunes
Three key musical moment took place this term beginning in June with the Lunchtime performance by the College Big Band in the central courtyard. The Music department accompanied the tunes with a fundraising BBQ with all proceeds going to the Charity Music Helps – a charitable trust changing lives through music.
Big Sing 2021
Aquinas College choir Voci Celesti performed at the Regional Big Sing Choral competition on 17 June at Holy Trinity church in Tauranga.
They were one of 22 choirs from the Waikato / BOP region taking part in this annual competition. Three award categories are recognised: Commended, Highly commended and Very Highly Commended, with Voci Celesti awarded Highly commended
Aquinas College choir students gave an outstanding performance of their three chosen songs, receiving a standing ovation in the evening Gala Concert. Congratulations Voci Celesti!
Music Department Annual Performance
The 2021 Aquinas Music Department music concert was held at the Otumoetai Baptist Church in June. Concert goers were treated to a wonderful evening of music to entertain all tastes, featuring our school choirs and bands. A huge thankyou to Mrs Cooney, Head of Music, for orchestrating the whole event!
