Outdoor Education Timber Trail
In September, a group of Year 13 Outdoor Education students undertook the gruelling, challenging and adventurous task of Mountain Biking the Timber Trail in the Pureora Forest, Central North Island.
The Trail managed by the Department of Conservation is an 85km, grade 3 intermediate single trail track. The weather was against us, but students displayed their positive mindsets in keeping on keeping on! Highlights included the lodge, the food, climbing to the top altitude of almost 1000m above sea level, and of course, the long descents. We had wild animals, incredible swing bridges, plenty of mud and some sore legs. The sense of achievement of completing the Trail was well worth the effort. Well done Team Timber Trail!
