Mass of the Spirit celebrated the gifts of the Holy Spirit, where we recalled the feast of Pentecost, fifty days after Easter, and prayed for the Holy Spirit to be with us and to strengthen us. Bishop Steve and Father Philip concelebrated our Mass.
The Mass also saw the culmination of our Sacramental Programme, where 13 of our students in Years 7-9 were presented to Bishop Steve by Mr Gavin Hesqua to be Confirmed and receive their First Holy Communion.
These young people have been completing their Sacraments of Initiation over the past two terms. They have grown in their faith and identity to fully understand what it means to be Catholic and initiated into the Church. It is opportunities like these where our students experience real love and heart for Christ. This conversion of the heart allows our students to be Christian witness and enter into a living relationship with Christ. This is what we are called to as an intentional faith-based community, and it is a real privilege to companion these young people on their journey.
We continue to pray for these young people as they receive the body and blood of Christ. We pray that the Eucharist provides them with sustenance, and they continue to seek the Truth by soaking themselves in scripture. We also acknowledge their sponsors and families and the role they continue to play in the lives of these young people.
