GSKaren Guise – HOF English and Languages.
Teaches English Y9-13.
One of two Scholarship English leaders.
Coordinator of debating, mooting and external speech competitions.
Staff Social Committee coordinator!

 

ENBernadette Egan – TIC Te Reo and Maori students’ mentor.
Kapa haka leader and key supporter of tikanga Maori at Aquinas.
Bernadette is a leader in ICT for learning.

 

 

 

ALEmma Aldred – TIC French.
Teaches French Y8-13.
Emma is the organiser of the New Caledonia French trip.
She is learning tikanga Maori through He Papa Tikanga.

 

 

 

BEPeter Boyle – Teaches English Y9-13.
Co-ordinates writing comps and is TIC Environment Committee.
The other half of the successful Scholarship English team.
Peter is a learner of tikanga Maori through He Papa Tikanga and an external NZQA marker.

 

 

RNMaria Rogerson – Teaches English Y9-13.
Chanel Shield poetry coach and keen supporter of rowing.
Learner of te Reo Maori through the Toku Reo series.
External NZQA marker.

 

 

 

HYJo Hayes – Teaches Y9-12 English.
Education Perfect facilitator for English and debating assistant.
Jo leads ICT for learning and is learning tikanga Maori through He Papa Tikanga.

Michelle Marston – Teacher of Te Reo Māori Y7-10
Michelle is currently completing her Masters in Educational Leadership at Waikato University.
She is the co-ordinator for Kapa Haka

 

 

 

Get involved in the Languages Faculty…

MOOTING – Learn how to argue a legal case and WIN.

DEBATING – The ‘Smash It’ season has begun! On Tuesday lunchtimes we team up two junior teams (Yr. 7-9 ) to battle it out for bragging rights, and on Thursday lunchtimes the seniors show off their quick wit and logical (?!) arguments. Always room for new competitors to give it a go and audience is welcome!
