A massive shout out to the Aquinas College Yr 7/8 Girls Basketball team for making the finals of their competition and coming away with silver medals! Playing Otumoetai Intermediate School A team on Monday 20th September, our awesome bunch of girls showed a mixture of skill levels with a faultless playing attitude. Proud coach Dot Paaka says the team, from the beginning of the season, learned a lot about development, playing as a team, having fun and that winning was the bonus!
Throughout the season, the team has won 6 from 6 games – including semi finals 32-30 vs Tauranga Intermediate ‘Sparks’ and fought hard in the finals, never giving up. Kia kaha girls, your strength, commitment and smiling faces are contagious.
