Aquinas College has been celebrating success across all age groups in running over the past month.

From this event, 12 students qualified to attend the Wider BOP Area event at Kaharoa School. This was another great event with clear blue skies.

Congratulations to Holly Fausett coming 1st and Emma Rogers coming 2nd in the Year 7 Girls Race, Reef Joseph placed 2nd in the Year 7 Boys Race and Ollie McFarlane placing 2nd in the Year 8 Boys Event.

The BOPSS Event (Y9-13) was held at Waipuna Park and saw 30 athletes competing for AC alongside other secondary schools in the Bay of Plenty.

Special congratulations to Connor Farrell who placed 1st and Reece McCarthy who placed 8th in the Senior Boys race. Connor, Reece and Ben Clark also joined together to win 2nd in the 3 Man Team event. Jacob Lewis, Hugo McCarroll and Marcus Tupou should also be congratulated for taking out 2nd place in the 3 Man Y9 Boys event.

From this event, 10 athletes continued on to represent Aquinas at the Waikato Cross Country event at Kihikihi. Under tough conditions in the deep Waikato, all students competed in spectacular fashion. Unfortunately we were unable to take any podium placings however all students should be congratulated on their efforts.
