Year 10 Humanities Hangi
The Social Studies Department is excited to announce that Year 10 students will participate in the inaugural Humanities Hangi on Friday 14th June. At the conclusion of Matariki week and marking the end of the Year 10 investigation into the Treaty of Waitangi and the Battles for Tauranga, this communal celebration of learning represents an exciting cultural and social opportunity for students and whanau alike.
We are pleased to have a number of guests joining us from our extended community and would like to extend this invitation to all Year 10 parents and grandparents.
The Hangi will be prepared by our senior te reo classes under the supervision of Mr Tuwharetoa Hapi and Mr Mikaere Smith.
Year 10 classes will be asked to donate root vegetables throughout the week of the Hangi. We encourage all Year 10 whanau to join us on Friday 14th June from 1:45 PM for the Mihi Whakatau at the wharenui. The Hangi will conclude at 3:10 PM to allow normal travel arrangements for students.
All Year 10 students will be present from 1:30 PM and during period 5. If any Year 10 parents and or grandparents are able to join us please complete this quick RSVP form so we are aware of numbers.
