He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
Tēnā rā tātou te whānau whānui o te kareti o Akuina,
Tēnei rā te mihi maioha ki a koutou katoa.
On Friday the 26th of November, Year 10 students held the annual rā whakanuia – celebration day. The Humanities Hāngī marks the culmination of the year for these students in Social Studies. This rich learning experience brought together multiple strands from our learning program, understanding of tikanga, as well as taught the students about the process of Hāngī.
Combined with some serious mahi, we were blessed with great weather and quality kai. Many thanks to all those involved in making this another successful event. Special thanks go to Grace Kahle and Anika Hyland from Year 11 who gave up their time to help with Harakeke weaving.
