The second-ever Aquinas House Play Competition lit up the stage on Tuesday night (April 8), treating the audience to an unforgettable evening of drama, humour, and creativity. With mafia power struggles, a murder mystery, chaotic game show, and out-of-touch Roman Gods, the performances had something for everyone.
Each House was challenged to present a short play exploring Family—the Aquinas Touchstone for 2024. The plays were written and directed by talented Year 12 students and performed by actors from across Years 7–13, showcasing the incredible depth of student talent at Aquinas.
Browne delivered a whodunnit with a twist, while Cluny followed a mafia family’s power struggle. Foy aired lively episodes of its TV gameshow Family Fued, and Hēni Pore taught Roman Gods how to act like a family.
Hēni Pore took out top honours on the night, claiming Best Play and strengthening its hold on the coveted House Cup.
