A class of Year 8 CIC students is throwing down the gauntlet to Aquinas students and staff—ditch the car and ride your bike to school next Tuesday, June 3, in celebration of World Bicycle Day.
This two-wheeled challenge is part of the group’s project, Bumper to Bumper, which focuses on local traffic issues and ways we can all help reduce congestion, lower emissions, and protect the environment. Their message is clear: save energy, reduce traffic, and help save the world!
The CIC class meets fortnightly with teacher Richard Parker as part of the CIC (Creative, Innovative, and Curious) programme, where Year 7 and 8 students explore real-world issues through short-term, project-based learning. Their traffic-focused initiative has also produced catchy slogans like:
“Don’t make a fuss, take the bus!”
“Don’t be a fool, carpool!”
So, join the movement this World Bicycle Day—let’s pedal together toward a greener future!
