Gifted and talented students from Year 7 – 9, who participated in the Autonomous Learners’ Programme this year showcased their learning at a Presentation Evening on Tuesday 28th of November.
Since gifted students are provided with accelerated learning opportunities by their subject teachers throughout the school, the Autonomous Learners’ Programme is aimed at empowering the students to become self-motivated, self-managed learners who are equipped with the skills to become responsible global citizens and future leaders.
The programme is designed to promote thinking skills so that students can be flexible in their thinking, deliberately employing deeper thinking in specific situations. All the students shared their individualised enquiry learning projects many of which were problem solving innovations.
The Yr. 9 students demonstrated their developing leadership skills by not only running the evening, but with guidance, planning the entire event.
Many thanks to Mrs. Livingstone for her support and direction throughout this programme.
