This is a reminder that the senior school (and Year 10 students sitting Level 1 Science) will be sitting examinations between Monday the 18th of September to Wednesday the 20th of September. During this period, senior students do not attend school unless they have an assessment or subject session planned. Any student who comes in to school during the exam period is expected to be in full school uniform.
These examinations are extremely important for students as they provide the evidence used by the school in the event that a student misses their final NCEA examinations.
The Library will be open for quiet study during this time. Please note that the Library is a study space, not an assembly area for students to congregate socially. The Librarian’s word is final – students should comply with reasonable requests. The Library is to be vacated (empty) during first break and the first 15 minutes of second break. Students who are studying are not permitted to eat or drink in the Library. The use of computers is restricted to access study material only – no other computer use is permitted. They may also be asked to vacate the Library if it has been booked by another class.
During the exam period, students are expected to bring their own study material to school. Students should be aware of their own exam timetable and they should be allocating sufficient time to studying. They should also be aware of what they are expected to bring to each examination, including calculators, coloured pencils, rulers, compasses, etc.
The examination timetable is below:
Course Selection for 2018
All students in Years 9 – 12 (Years 10 -13 in 2018) should have entered their subject choices for 2018 via the web portal by now. Any student who hasn’t submitted their subject choices should realise that they may not gain access to any over-subscribed subjects. Those who have completed their choices on time will be given priority in most instances.
