NCEA – Student Progress

We are now entering the business end of the year for our NCEA students. All students should now have gained credits through the internally assessed component of their courses. Students have been given their National Student Numbers (NSN) by their Deans towards the end of last term. This should allow them to set up their account to log in to the NZQA website. On the NZQA website students can check on their progress, find out how they are faring in relation to course endorsements and overall certificate endorsements, check their examination timetable, and request copies of their qualifications to date. The following links may be useful in finding out about NCEA:

Options Selections for 2020

As noted at the Options Evening on Tuesday evening, the Options Selection process is occurring through our school online portal. Please note the following:

Making Options Choices Online

Go to the school student portal (http://kamar.aquinas.school.nz/)

Log in using information sent by the school (caregiver must log in to make choices)

Select Course Selection from the toolbar options:

Then select an option in each of the lines (1 – 4)

Note: Year 11 students (2020) will need to select a Mathematics option and a Science option

Once you have selected the options for 2020 you can preview and then REMEMBER to save

Senior Derived Grades Assessments

The school Derived Grades Examinations are scheduled for week 9 of this term (starting Monday 16th September). These examinations are used by some subjects as a way of determining top in subject and as an indicator of how a student is likely to perform in their final NCEA externally assessed examinations. Most importantly, these examinations become our evidence when a student is unable to sit their final NCEA examinations. Please do note the date of these examinations in your diary.
