Celebrating Excellence at Aquinas College!

We are thrilled to share the New Zealand Herald’s recognition of Aquinas College as one of the top-performing schools in the country.

In its Dec. 2 analysis, “How does your school rate? Latest NCEA, University Entrance Results at Every College Ranked,” the Herald highlighted Aquinas’ outstanding results in University Entrance (UE), NZ’s highest school-leaver qualification.

In 2023, Aquinas College students’ UE results were:

  • 17th= in NZ across all 349 state, state-integrated, and private schools

  • 6th= in NZ among larger schools (50-plus Year 13 students)

  • 3rdplace for boys and 7th place for girls when analysed by gender (25-plus Year 13 male/female students)

  • #1 coeducational state or state-integrated school in NZ for UE attainment (50 or more students)

🎓️What is University Entrance (UE)?

UE is New Zealand’s highest school-leaver qualification and a key milestone for students pursuing higher education. To achieve UE, students must meet these rigorous requirements:

✔️ NCEA Level 3

✔️ 14 credits at Level 3 in each of three approved subjects

✔️ Literacy and Numeracy requirements

We are so proud of our students for reaching these outstanding heights in 2023 and our staff for empowering our young people to achieve such results.
