Year 11’s and 12’s – thinking of a career in Engineering?

Do you like solving problems? Do you like finding ways to improve things? Are you into innovation and technology? Do you enjoy maths and science but enjoy being practical too? Engineering, with its wide range of roles may be a career option for you.

Engineering NZ and Waikato University will be at this year’s Options Evening  (7pm, next Tue 20 Aug) to host an information seminar about Engineering – what options there are for jobs in the industry and what you need to focus on at school in order to maximise your study to enter tertiary courses. All parents and students are welcome to attend.

The presentation will be held in the foyer, following the opening address and there will be time for questions and then visiting other subject advisors after. Year 13 students and whanau are also welcome.

Year 10 – 12 Future pathways – got your eye on a particular tertiary course?

When picking your subject options for next year, its important to give some thought to how these subjects may help you get into your chosen tertiary study or future employment.

Both Toi Ohomai and University of Waikato will be at this year’s Options Evening (7pm, next Tue 20 Aug) to help advise on how your subject choices next year may impact on future pathway options.

Andy Howells, Future Student from Waikato University will be able to talk about course options, scholarships and support and possible options if there are gaps in your current course of study. For more information on courses available at Waikato University – please see www.waikato.ac.nz (link to course page)

Nathan Stewart, Youth & Community Engagement Navigator, will be along from Toi Ohomai to talk about courses on offer at Toi Ohomai, both while at school and after. For more information on courses and programmes – please see www.toiohomai.ac.nz (link to course page)
