The Aquinas College Board of Trustees consists of
5 Parent Elected Trustees, 4 Proprietor’s Representatives,
a Staff and Student Trustee and the Principal.
The next triennial election will be held in 2025.

Policies

Policy development is underpinned by the principles and values identified in the Aquinas College Charter and Strategic Plan.  Policies are established to ensure Aquinas College and the Board of Trustees meet all Ministry of Education requirements relating to student achievement and well being, and also with regard to the requirements covered under Governance of Catholic State Integrated Schools.

The BOT, staff, families and students need to be aware of school policies and how to access them.  To this end, the policy review process is outlined below:

2. Governance Policies

The Board of Trustees sets the direction for the College through its Strategic Plan and setting of policy. The policies listed below are governance policies and each has a review date.  Members of the community are invited to provide feedback and input on policies as they come up for review. Policy Consultation and Review Process

  • The schedule of policies due for review in the coming year is available here
  • The title of the policy and month of review appears in the line – 2022 Policy Review Plan.
  • Policies are usually reviewed on a 3-year cycle, although policies may be reviewed at any time in response to emerging issues such as Ministry of Education requirements, changes in environment, legislation or strategic focus.
  • Feedback and input is invited from members of the community and key stakeholders.
  • Submissions should be made prior to the date of the Policy Review Meeting (as per the schedule).
  • Feedback can be submitted via email or in writing to the College office or in person by emailing the Board Secretary to arrange a meeting.
  • The Policy Review Committee will collate all feedback and draft changes to policy.
  • The draft policy is tabled at the following Board meeting for the full Board to ratify.
