The Senior Visual Art classes visited the Tauranga Art Gallery on Wednesday 26th February to view the exhibition of leading contemporary artist Kelcy Taratoa.
The exhibition WHO AM I? EPISODE 001 deals with cultural identity in the twenty-first century Aotearoa New Zealand.
This exhibition is a mid-career survey of work by leading contemporary artist Kelcy Taratoa (Ngai Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui and Ngāti Raukawa).
Taratoa’s work tackles important themes, including links between history, media, social conditioning, and identity construction, surveillance and privacy, nuclear and environmental threat.
Twenty-one eager students joined a senior Drama Club at lunchtime and had much fun playing drama games and improvising.
Drama Club will run every Thursday at lunchtime – alternating between senior and junior drama groups. Bianca Pearce will be running this using her past experiences of performing and extensive workshop attendance, coupled with her passion for drama.
