At Aquinas College we are extremely fortunate to be able to offer the following Itinerant Music Lessons in school time.
There is no cost for the actual lessons but there will be a $15.00 charge to cover folders and music that students receive and may keep. We do have a small number of instruments available to hire. Please contact lcooney@aquinas.school.nz
If your son/daughter would like to take up this fantastic opportunity they can collect an enrolment form from the school office or from Mrs Cooney
Instruments available include:
Strings: Mrs Gardiner – Violin, Viola, Cello and Double bass
Woodwind and Saxophone: Ms Martin, Mrs Jones – flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone
Brass: Mr Thomas – Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, French Horn, Baritone Horn, Euphonium
Drums and Bass: Mr Ryan Brake
Other instruments may be available upon request. Please contact lcooney@aquinas.school.nz
Private lessons are also available for voice, piano and guitar, where fees are paid directly to the tutor.

VOCAL LESSONS (NEW 2021 – more times available)
Vocal lessons will be available with Glenese Blake on Fridays. Glenese has a limited number of spaces available so these will be on a first in first served basis. Priority will be given to those studying Music as a subject, doing NCEA Assessments, with Voice as their instrument. Students who have had lessons with Glenese in previous years have found that it has proved very successful with their vocal development. There will be a fee charged for these lessons. PIANO LESSONS (NEW 2021)
Piano lessons will be offered in 2021 by Kathy Stewart. These will be held on Tuesday mornings. Limited places are available. First in first served, priority will be given to those taking Music as a subject. Please contact Kathy directly on Stew.wilson@xtra.co.nz for information on lessons. You will need an instrument to practice on.
OUT OF HOURS KEYBOARD (OOH)
These are offered on Wednesday and Thursdays after school from 3.30 – 4.30pm. Lessons are in groups and are FREE to beginner keyboard players at Year 7 and 8 only. There are 16 places available so please register your interest to avoid missing out on this amazing opportunity. These lessons are taught by Marina Walters.
