Aquinas Talent across the Bay

A number of talented students and staff have been wowing audiences with their singing, acting and dancing talents.

Mary Poppins ran for 6 nights are Baycourt in September. Star of previous school productions Bugsy Malone and Oliver, Yr. 11 Michael Graham appeared alongside his father, Fraser Graham, cast as George Banks. Katie Graham, a Yr 7 teacher, was in charge of costumes for the show. Yr 8 student Eliza Ward, who was a jazz singer at Fat Sam’s Grand Slam in Bugsy Malone, appeared as Jane Banks. Mrs Elisabeth Hanna (music teacher and vocal tutor at Aquinas College) plays the Bird Woman (Feed the Birds). Abigail Speight (Year 12) is also involved as a member of the ensemble.

Yr 9 student Bella Wright made her debut as Brigitta von Trapp in a national production of The Sound of Music.  Bella traveled with the school choir Voci Celesti to the 27th Australian International Music Festival in Sydney in July 2016. The choir was awarded a Bronze Award for their performance. She was also a member of Fagin’s gang in Oliver.

Sound of Music is currently touring New Zealand. Bella performed at ASB  Arena at Baypark on Mon 9 Oct 2017 7:00pm.
