The Aquinas Cricket Club have taken a big step forward this year and secured the coaching and playing services of an overseas coach.
He will coach all levels from Yr 7 to Y 13 including midweek inter-school games. He will also play for the First XI in senior reserve grade cricket on Saturdays.
Our player/coach is Tom Piddington, who is a 25 year old English player who plays for the Hadleigh Cricket Club in Suffolk.
Tom is a bowling all rounder who bowls right arm medium fast and bats in the top order anywhere from 1 to 6. He has represented Suffolk at development squad level.
He has an ECB Level 2 coaching qualification and has worked with both adults and children on an individual basis and has delivered holiday coaching programmes and summer camps for school groups.
He has previously filled a player/coach role in Melbourne and is keen to develop his game further as both a player and coach by taking up another off season role.
Tom arrives in NZ on 26th September and will stay until the end of March 2018 . He will stay with 4 Aquinas cricketing families over this period and will accompany the First XI on a trip to Melbourne in January.
