Aquinas College Water Polo has a strong following. We have competitors at Yr 7 & 8 and the secondary school level. The teams compete in a local competition either at the Windermere Aquatic Centre (Toi Ohomai), or the Baywave Aquatic Centre. We aim to compete in the North Island competitions and the NZ AIMS GAMES Tournament for Year 7 and 8 students.

We are very pleased to provide you with information for the Water Polo season. The details for the season are:
Playing Venues
Baywave Aquatic Centre, Mount Maunganui, and Toi Ohomai, Windermere Drive, Tauranga.
Trainings
Trainings will be on Sunday afternoons at Baywave in one hour slots between 2 and 5pm.
For Tournament Teams, practice will also be held on Wednesdays 7.00am – 8.00am at the Toi Ohomai Pool.
Entry to Baywave is $3.80
Competition
Weekly competitions are organised by Tauranga Water Polo Club. In Term 1, Tauranga Water Polo offers grades for Year 78 and Year 9-13. In Term 4, Tauranga Water Polo offers grades for Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 only.
All players will be required to be at the venues 20 minutes prior to their match. Games are estimated to be played between 4-8.30pm.
Year 7/8 play either on Tuesdays (A & B Grade) or Fridays (C Grade) at Toi Ohomai, Windermere
Year 9 – 13 play on Thursdays at Baywave (or Toi Ohomai if required).
Draw
Game times can be checked each week at Tauranga Water Polo and clicking on Draws, and then selecting the applicable league.

* New Zealand Secondary School Div 2 (Year 11-13 Girls) – April
* New Zealand Secondary School Championships (Year 11-13 Boys) – April
* NZ AIMS GAMES (Year 7/8) – September
* Challenger Cup (Year 9/10) – October
* North Island Intermediate Champs (Year 7/8) – October
* North Island Secondary School Junior Champs (Year 7-10) – Late Oct/Early November
Uniform
* Year 7/8: AC togs for tournament players, mufti togs for local players
* Years 9-13: AC togs compulsory for all players, no mufti togs

Team caps are provided
Cost
Approximately $90.00 per student, per term.
Player entry to the pool is an extra cost at Baywave to be paid on arrival at the pool. Teams selected for other competitions will be required to cover associated expenses.
