Cross-country is back on this year…just a little different!

Friday 29 May 2020

This is normally a whole school event but due to Covid 19 restrictions, we are having to alter our organisation accordingly. The event is COMPULSORY for all Y7-Y10 students, while U16 and U19 athletes have the option to compete. All U16 and U19 students who opt to compete MUST pre-register to do so in their correct age group. Pre-Registration will take part in tutor classes on Wednesday 27th May.

Please note: only athletes who have registered to compete will be excused from classes. No one will be permitted to come out and watch. This includes visitors / parents to the school.

Schedule for the Event

2020 Aquinas College Cross Country Course

  1. From the start complete one lap of the orange course
  2. At the turn around by cricket nets, continue on the black course until the far corner of the field.
  3. Run on to Ava Glen Place then down to the Gully playground.
  4. Follow markers up through the gully before exiting gully behind the Technology Block.
  5. Turn left at the Technology block and run past the cricket nets to the finish.

Please Note: Due to staffing constraints for marshalling we will not be running the exact course as above. When in the gully the runners will turn left at marker point # 9, then run along the gully floor to marker # 10. Here they turn left and run up an incline to exit the gully immediately behind the Technology Block.

All students are required to run. This is a major House Event and earns House points. Correct House (PE) shirts are to be worn by all students Y7-Y10. Senior students no longer with fitting shirts are to be encouraged to wear a plain coloured T Shirt of their respective House Colours. We hope the weather is kind to us!

Weather: The event will take place rain, hail or shine!
