AON National Age Group Swimming Championships

Well done to all of our students who competed at the AON NAGS event in Auckland from the 17 – 21 April 2018.

William Armstrong competed in 5 events, broke 3 personal bests, raced in 3 finals and took out 3 top 10 NZ rankings. Williams finals results are listed below:
200m Breaststroke 7th
50m Breaststroke 6th
100m Breaststroke 6th

Ruby Helm competed in 5 events, she broke 2 personal bests, raced in 1 final and has a top 10 NZ ranking. Ruby placed 6th in the 400m Individual Medley.

Lochlainn O’Connor had 7 events however injuries resulted in scratching from 5, Lochlainn raced in 2 finals, best 2 of his personal bests and equalled the Bay of Plenty record for the 200m Butterfly. This record was set by Moss Burmester in 1998. Awesome Lochlainn!
200m Butterfly 3rd – Bronze and equaled BOP Record!

Connor Farrell raced in 7 events, made 6 finals, received 6 top 10 NZ rankings, beat 2 of his personal bests and was awarded a Bronze Medal in the 50m Butterfly. Well done Connor on a great event.
200m Freestyle 10th
200m Individual Medley 10th
100m Freestyle 10th
200m Freestyle 9th
100m Butterfly 4th
50m Butterfly 3rd – Congratulations Bronze!

Thomas Wilkinson also had a stellar event. Thomas had 10 events, broke 8 of his personal bests, made 6 finals, has 6 top 10 NZ rankings, was awarded a Silver Medal in the 200m Individual Medley and in the same race smashed the Bay of Plenty record by 3.15 seconds that was set in 2002. Awesome achievement Thomas.

400m Freestyle 8th
200m Backstroke 7th
100m Backstroke 6th
200m Butterfly 5th
200m Individual Medley 2nd – Silver and a new BOP Record

Zonal Relay- Connor Farrell 1st

Club 400m Freestyle Relay- Thomas Wilkinson and Connor Farrell 2nd
