Thrilling Overtime Victory: Aquinas Netball Clinches Win Over Bethlehem
By Reporter Domenico Basile
The Aquinas netball team had a thrilling and nail-biting last AIMS game against familiar rivals, Bethlehem College today (Sept. 5). It was a fast and breath-taking game, but Aquinas pulled through at the end.
Neck-and-neck throughout the game, the teams were tied 14-all at full time and forced into overtime. The extra time failed to produce a clear winner as the teams traded goals one after the other. Finally, at 21-all, the umpire said the next team to score would win.
Aquinas made a last-minute intercept at the defence end, passing the ball swiftly down to our goal. Charlotte Clarke (Year 8) made the winning goal in style! Aquinas had won!
The Coach said she was super proud of the team. They have played 3 games against the Bethlehem College team this year. They have struggled against the team all year, with each game only being a point or two apart, so it was fantastic to come away with a win. Awesome effort Aquinas netballers!
