Year 7/8’s have the option to wear PE gear on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the rest of term. The drive is to get students more active, both physically and mentally, plus give them the chance to learn new skills.
There are some indoor options such as Knit Nits for those wanting to learn how to knit or Coding Club for those who enjoy computer games. For students into sports and outdoor activities, there are both small and large group games that everyone is invited to join.
“I think it’s a great idea because lunchtime can be really boring.”, commented Yr. 7 Emma Mitchinson. ” I’m going to try inside games if it’s a cold day or outside stuff if its sunny. I like knitting so I’m going to this on Thursday”.
Yr. 7 Ella Hooper agrees. “I play squash and hockey so I think I’ll go to the gym and join in the indoor hockey – it looks like fun”. I just have to remember to wear my P.E gear on Thursday”.
Tuesday Code Club (Room 8) The Code Club is not just AC but a National NZ/Aotearoa Club. You will be part of an amazing crowd learning loads of different things like how to create your own interactive stories, games and animations. Physical Activities: Option 1 – Large Group game (Turf) Option 2: Smaller games like bench ball, indoor cricket, basketball, futsal (Gym)
